It SAFEST to go as corporate conservative as possible so you don't offend or get anyone's fashion no-no list. It also depends on the type of company & position, you're applying for. If its a fashion magazine or a trendy/stylish field, then you could wear the heels to stick out from the crowd. Also, I hope the red pumps match something on your attire such as a simple bangle or thin, long necklace. Good luck.

Red is actually the number one color to avoid wearing at work or for an interview. Red is a power color and comes across as alarming and domineering. Even if you happen to be a mild person, red is not a color to wear when you want to make a humble first impression. I'd stick with basic black.

It all depends on the type of interview. I work in the fashion industry and it is very important to look the part. First impressions mean a lot and depending on the industry you are applying for, then it could make or break you. I would say yes for fashion, design, or stylists and no for more corporate settings.

Red is a color that implies "Stop"

The "Stop" effect can be good IF the rest of the outfit is meshing with the corportate fashion. I usually try to drive by the place and check out the people, their cars, and shoes ... this helps me get to the interview on time and also helps me blend in fashion wise.

As a Human Resources Manager, the guy that does the hiring, I would say it is. Remember even if your "corporate culture" is liberal, the interviewer might not be. Conservative colors and attire are the way to think.

It depends on what you are interviewing for.
If it is your local pimp I don't see a problem with red pumps.
