Best thing to do when bit by a snake.?

DONT try to suck out the poison for heaven's sake, that is the oldest and worst treatment for snake bite there is.
While waiting for the ambulance, stay as still as possible, keep your heart higher than the bite site, so sit up if you can, keep the bitten area quiet and still and apply gentle pressure above the bite, between it and your heart. NOT a torniquet, just gentle pressure.

ID the snake (don't get bit again, trying to catch it)

DO NOT SUCK OUT THE VENOM..........

If you have a snake bite kit, you can use it. (If the snake is poisonous)

The main thing is not to Panic, getting excited speeds up your heart rate and causes the venom to circulate quicker.

If someone can get you to the ER quicker than a Squad can get to you. By all means..Load and Go.....Time is tissue.

Knowing the type of snake will help in giving the right antidote. If you don't know it's name be sure to either kill it and bring it in or at least remember the color and banding. Some snakes aren't poisonous.

It's best to suck out the poision (if the snake is posinious) through your mouth and spit it out quickly before it gets to deep. Then you should wrap the wound with cloth, towel, or piece of clothing.

suck out the poison...put pressure on it, and pray that you dont die. try to catch the snake so you can use it venom as an antidote
