Put together a "Romance Basket" for them. Use a nice wicker basket and fill it with a bottle of wine, wine glasses, a nice romantic CD, a set of candles with candleholders, a box of candy, a nice picture frame or photo album or whatever else you think they might like. I make these for gifts a lot for weddings and showers. You can pick up a basket at a Goodwill store really cheap, the wine glasses can be purchased at a dollar store or Walmart. Buy romantic scented candles. You really don't have to put a lot of money into one of these. Wrap it in nice cellophane paper or tulle and put a really nice bow around it. They look great and everyone seems to like them.

No gift is required for an engagement - just for the bridal shower if invited, and a wedding gift.

For $50 you can get a nice item at Macy's like a set of 4 stemless wine glasses and then add a bottle of wine. This site is always a hit and you can't go wrong with any item. Good Luck.

I would go with quality towels or sheets. Sounds boring but there is nothing nicer than having a great supply of at the ready new towels when old ones wear out.
If not then an original idea would be a big basket with wine, cheese, chocolates, massage oil, relaxation tape, picnic rug, maybe a picnic set for two?

My parents bought me a very pretty rose colored nightgown and robe set (Macy´s had a sale) to wear on our wedding night. Why don´t you do the same?

How about a gift certificate to a home goods store, like Crate and Barrel or something...

I would suggest gift cards to one or even two of their favorite restaurant or maybe one they have never been to but would like to try! It is very easy to lose touch with that fun dating stage of a relationship and gives them a reason to go out together!

engagement gift? you don't have to buy any engagement gift. maybe, your referring to a wedding gift? kitchen or bedroom stuff is always good. shop around. i'm sure you'll find something that fits your budget.
