Maybe he needs more attention. Or maybe he is upset about being spayed. Try giving him greater love and attention.

Your cat is SICK. Sick and freaked out at going to the vet.

That's not particularly vicious...that happens quite often. When my cat ISN'T sick, she still gets freaked out about going to the vet...she knows something's up and doesn't even want to go in her cat carrier, and then she freaks out at the vet's office, though she's normally pretty calm (like, I can walk her on a leash and she'll let people pet her.)

Try some catnip or kitty tranquilizers if it's serious. But if your cat's got some kind of brain issue (like, say, a lesion or messed-up brain chemistry), it'll be tough to treat.

I mean, I'd say today was just your cat being sick and cranky, but be prepared to face much tougher issues if the aggression continues. Usually, animals don't just get aggressive for no reason. It could be pain, it could be a brain disorder...it may be treatable.

Or it may not be. Aggression isn't just a bad kitty...it can be a symptom of something seriously wrong, a way of a pet telling you without having access to words to describe it.

And next time, let the vet know that your cat is having trouble with aggression, so he/she can take precautions ahead of time. It's better than it being a surprise.

Technically, your cat was neutered. A female is spayed!!!
I really feel sorry for you and for those people who have to deal with him at the vets office. Try asking the vet for some sort of a tranquilizer that you can put in the cats wet food (canned) and then after the cat has eaten it take the caat to the vet to be examined.
Other than that I would leave the cat ALONE!!!!!!!!!! If he bits someone you will have to prove that he has had his shots for rabies.
Not much help- sorry. But good luck.

Adult cats that are aggressive are pretty much impossible to fix with training. This website provides some good information on cat aggression and some things you might try, but my experience with cats like yours when they are aggressive all the time don't often change. So you have decide if you can live with it or not. I'm sorry you're in this spot - it's really hard on a pet owner.

If this behavior is new then he may just be mad about being taken to the vet, and he will calm back down with time. Sometimes cats start acting like that if their is something new in their life that they haven't accepted. Last -- Could he have rabies

I think he is behaving like this because he is sick. : ( Phone around different vet clinics or ask around for a patient vet who is good with aggresive animals. The one who treats them the best way is the best one for him. After all you dont want to stress him out anymore than he already is.

another suggestion : you cat may have to stay at vets, get a tranquilizing shot to calm him down then examine him. This will cost you more tho' All the best to his health.

i think you should trap him on the couch and pet him but make shure he is in a posision that he can't scratch you. wait a while and give him some cake and extra cat treats. :P
