I can't understand it either. I have noticed some will post a smart comment or just say "yea, I agree" just to get those 2 precious pts. If you don't have an answer or opinion, why bother? What do they think they will win with all those pts? Beats me!!

Well, as you can see I don't have 40,000 pts or over. I'm on disability and am unable to get a job, so I get on the computer and email my long-distance friends and also get on here to read the questions and answers and answer those that I know the answer to and hopefully help somebody in the process. Until I can get all the material together for my new website and restart it then I'll be on here. The points didn't matter to me at first and then as time went on it became a game to see how many I could get and what level I could attain. This is what I do, because I don't have much of a life.
If there is somebody out there who is willing to hire a college-graduate for a permanent part-time clerical position please let me know. Email me.

I can't vouch for everyone that has all those points (I've got quite a few, but nowhere near that many!) but just because a person is on the computer all day does not mean they have "no life."

For instance, I'm a severe agoraphobe. I only get out of my house once a week, with a first degree family member next to me, so that I can go to the grocery. It's all I can handle. Being outside of my comfort zone, (ie, my house and its yard) alone, terrifies me. My husband works during the day. Gets kind of boring. Thank goodness for yahoo answers!

Think about the statement you made.

This is the "Etiquette" section, right?

For many people this is probably just a points game.

THEN AGAIN...

It is very possible that someone might be home-bound for some reason and the computer is that person's only access to the outside world.

If that is the case and the Internet is the only contact with people, would you REALLY begrudge a person that little bit of contact?

Shame on you!

I have a job that pays me a lot of money for sitting around and doing nothing for 75% of the work day. What am I supposed to do with my time if there's no work to be done?

well you might be right a person that perhaps has nothing else to do. some one who does not work and also some one who does not care about the answer but just writing anything to get the points.

I know what you mean this is all too funny. I am new to all this, I simply went on this page to ask a question regarding a traffic ticket and found all this. LOL

We're imaginary.
Is what you see real points or are they points that cannot be seen?
