Hi.An amplifier is a piece of electrical equipment containing two main parts: the Pre-Amplifier and the Power Amplifier. The Pre-Amplifier is the control center which has volume adjustment, input switching, tone controls, and the first stage of amplification of the signal .In a music system the recorded information is retrieved from the software :(Records,DVDs,CDs,AM/FM Broadcast ,Tapes, etc.) converted into an electrical signal and sent to the Pre-Amplifier.The Pre-Amplifier makes a larger copy (amplifies) of the small electrical signal it receives from the Source (CD Player,DVD Player, Turntable,Tape Deck,Tuner etc) and sends that signal to the Power Amplifier to be made into a much larger signal (amplifies) big enough to move the Speakers. The Speakers receive the amplified signal from the Power Amplifier by means of cables connected from the back of the Amplifier to the back of the Speakers. When the Speakers receive that amplified signal they convert it from an electrical signal to an acoustical signal by moving the Speakers' cones or drivers back and forth to create sound waves which we hear as music

I hope i have explained well enough for you to understand.

In a basic sense, an amplifier takes an audio signal

and makes is louder, and a speaker takes the amplified

signal from the amplifier and turns it into sound.

Here, do some research on Wikipedia. Very helpful.

An amplifier does just that, it amplifies (increases or sharpens) the signal going to your speakers.

The speakers are the part that sound comes out of.

Some speakers have internal amplifiers, but generally, the amplifier is a standalone unit or part of your tuner (stereo main unit).

An amplifier usually takes a small electric audio signal and makes it bigger.

A speaker is an electromechanical device that couples a paper cone with an electromagnet that floats above a permanent magnet. When the "bigger" signal from the amplifier is applied to the electromagnet it causes attractions and repulsions which moves the cone thus reproducing the original sound.

The style of channels is the style of self sufficient amplifiers in the housing. on your case, that's advisable to means each and each sub with its very own channel - requiring a 2 channel amp, or cord the two subs to 1 channel. There are amplifiers that are "bridgable" which means you may set one channel one hundred eighty° out of section from the different, and use 2 channels topersistent one sub.

The audio signal that is read from your CD by your CD player is too weak to produce any sound. so it is passed through your amplifier where it is made much much stronger and sent to your speakers so that the signal can be transmitted into speaker movement which makes for audible sound.
