All of those big brand acne treatments do a little for acne, but don't get rid of it which makes you buy more and more and more and more...they only care about the money. Homemade treatments and remedies are really key!

I guess the best first things to do are-

Make sure you're getting enough nutrients in your diet, maybe even by taking a supplement or changing your eating habits

This is key-you MUST do this-this is THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF THE PUZZLE!!! And that is-DRINK WATER!!! At LEAST 6 glasses of just plain water, and a few more of things like milk or juice, if you want.

Don't exceed more than 1 bottle of soda a day.

Don't touch your face. Just don't do it. And ALWAYS wash your hands before washing your face.

Ok, so your on the right track now. Here is how to make the BEST face scrub ever-one that is completely your own.

Start off with 1/3 cup of either white granulated sugar or raw sugar.

That's really the main ingredient. It exfoliates wonderfully.

Next are the others. They can be whatever you want them to be, within reason. Try these things or thing like-

Green tea (get out a green tea teabag and cut it open)
-Pulls out dirt and bacteria in your skin

Honey (add maybe a tablespoon or so)
-Moisturizes and pulls out bacteria. Plus, it smells good!

Olive Oil
-Moisturizes

Witch hazel
-Really cleanses deep into the skin

Baby Oil
-The best facial moisturizer

Almond Oil
-Again. Moisture is KEY to healthy, acne free skin

Peppermint (Peppermint extract, fresh peppermint leaves, or even peppermint tea)
-Tones skin and makes pores smaller. Plus, it's VERY soothing!

Make your scrub in a small bowl, and add enough of your moist ingredients to make it like a thick paste-not too thin. Experiment with different things that are made from plant products always-never animal products.

If you are taking a bath or a long, hot shower, you can (and should sometimes) use your scrub as a facial mask!Just put it on and leave it on for at least 5 minutes. 15 minutes is really the perfect amount of time. After that, just scrub it gently in circles in your face and rinse with warm water, finishing always with a few splashes of cold.

For every day, use a mild cleanser like Noxema, Dove Moisturizing face bar, or Aveeno Moisturizing bar. Use something like Witch Hazel as an astringent, and if you have dry skin, finish off with a little baby oil as a moisturizer.

-Try adding some noxema face wash to the scrub

If you actually read through all of this, thanks! Everything I have told you here is what got rid of my acne, and it may do the same for you! Plus-it's SO MUCH FUN making your own scrubs, and it's even funner when you start to see your acne disapear!

Most home-made acne remedies are ineffective and do more harm than good. There are many good soaps/cleansers to choose from, original Ivory bar soap, Pears glycerin soap, Neutrogena, Cuticura, etc. Go to a Walgreen's or Wal Mart and look at the various kits available. You should be able to find one for mild acne problems.

If you really don't want to go that way just wash with Ivory soap and follow with Witch Hazel for an astringent.

I wouldn't advise making your own acne treatment at home. Either go to the drugstore and buy some creams, such as something with benzyl peroxide.

If you are really desperate, you can go to a dermatologist :)

And the dermatologist can give you injections that will make the pimple look less visible. It will stop the redness and the popping up.

K, some of these sound pretty weird, I havent tried most of them, but even if they dont rid you of acne, they will help your skin in some way, hopefully.

Also, I heard that mixing pure sandalwood powder with a little honey and putting ti on your face for 30 minutes helps, I tried that yesterday and it kind of ehlped, just do it daily for a month, I plan on doing it since I really have nothng to lose.
Good Luck!!

You should try using Witch Hazel. It was something that everyone used before they had specific medications and such for acne. My mother reccommended it to me, and I've used it. It works very well! If you use a little pad (the kind that you can put stuff on and rub it on your face) and put some on it, then scrub your face, it should work. Do this daily!
