I just moved back from the Bahamas where you have to either:

1) marry a bahamian
2) have a gig
3) spend $500k in the country, usually on a residence

If you don't do either of these, you are basically ILLEGAL and able to sympathize more with immigrants as you deal with Immigration officials & all that treating you badly.

Or you can do what lots of expaites do, travel to Florida every few months and have your passport stamped for another few months when you arrive back on the island. It can be exhausting.

Do you think more people would "think twice" about moving to the US if our requirements for residency were stricter?

Absolutely right, we should have stiffer requirements for legal immigration and I also believe people would think twice if there were greater repercussions for invading illegally.

he's quoting the celebration line and showing that he's the two (a) a liar or (b) the no longer so suitable bill replace into so complicated and convoluted that even he did no longer comprehend it. "the bill might have required that at present undocumented persons searching for momentary criminal prestige shield employment, bypass a historic past examine, pay fines and their returned taxes, and forego any Social secure practices reward tied to funds they made into the gadget on an analogous time as working illegally." The returned taxes provision replace into struck simply by fact the GAO desperate it may be way too complicated to come to a decision. in addition they knew that the illegals might purely declare sufficient earnings to declare EIC. SS reward? Bush already signed an contract with Mexico to grant them returned reward. "regrettably, because of this result, no issues have been solved, and the dysfunctional prestige quo maintains to be. communities in Idaho, and around the country, will nevertheless face the issue of undocumented workers who take great thing approximately our broken criminal immigration gadget." Now right here he's showing us in simple terms how stupid he's (or thinks we are) Illegals are no longer taking great thing approximately a broken criminal immigration gadget they're taking great thing approximately a central authority that REFUSES to enforce the regulation. ENFORCEMENT has no longer something to do with the granting of amnesty which replace into what SB1639 replace into approximately. So what he's truly asserting is you probably did no longer provide me amnesty so i can't enforce the regulation. "i'm going to additionally proceed to hunt for a answer to the severe hard artwork shortages plaguing the U.S. agricultural community. " Now right that's a solid one. The previous jobs human beings won't do. looks like Dianne Feinstein, Queen of the amnesty proponents. Even Queen Dianne anticipated that there are purely a pair of million/2 one million unlawful alien farmworkers interior the US. if that's the case, what are the different 19.5 million doing? what's your Senator truly asserting? the two he has no clue or he thinks you're clueless.

No person should have to BUY their citizenship in the United States. We have made provisions for legal immigration and in most part we welcome LEGAL immigration. We need the skill, talent, ambitions and ethics most immigrants bring with them. No, we should not make more demanding requirements for residency! Tose seeking to immigarte to the U.S. should learn English so they can assimilate, they should study our governmental philosophies so they understand how we function (when we are doing it correctly) and they need to understand our laws. Many legal immigrants understand these things better than some U.S. citizens born and raised here. If they have properly entered the United States and they are ready to become a law abiding citizen giving their allegiance to the United States, WELCOME ABOARD; however, if they come here illegally they continue to be criminals every day they remain and the family members they bring with them are criminals. Those we need to identify, arrest, deport, and not allow them legal entry into the United States for at least three years after their arrest and deportation.

Since we have the lowest unemployment in recent memory and millions of people keep on coming, it's safe to say that most "illegals" DO have a gig.

I think our requirements are already very strict. You have to jump through hurdles, pay lots of money, fill out lots of papers, be examined!, and then wait. If you don't do one thing correctly then you risk a longer wait, and having to do it again, and again.
