adhesive hooks, they look like little plastic hooks with a sticky backing, you stick it to the surface and let sit for a day and it is than ready ot be used, It holds pretty strong as well, if you want to take it down, you jsut pull it down and it comes off.

There are little brass loops that are on plates that can be tacked to the back of the frames.

You can put screw eyes and wire cable across the back and support it on a bunch of nails to share the load.

You can fasten a picture molding rail near the ceiling. Then you can slip a picture molding clip on it and bring a wire cable down to the level of the frame. That is good for a wall with a lot of frames or a few very big frames.
