well in the UK with the interest rate going up and so many people now struggling to pay the bill I can't see it being much longer before it all comes crashing down again. In someways things have never been better but for most people like me the cost of getting by day by day is just to much. I am lucky as I only really have a small mortgage to pay compared to a lot of people but even we struggle to keep up with it all. Now the flooding is trashing peoples homes and so many of them have no insurance because they simply can not afford both the nice house and the insurances at the same time so have lost everything. I just can not see how much longer it can all go on before we become a totally bankrupt nation of people.

No because the depression occurred because the government did not regulate banking and their was no social welfare program. The economy always revolves are around either one of the following being a good investment at any one times, Stock, Real Estate and Bonds. Right now I would invest in bonds as Stocks and Real Estate are down.

Soon is a relative term...soon as in next month, next year or in your lifetime? Boom and bust are cyclical and follow both political and economic trends which are convoluted but occur with surprising regularity.
Employment, inflation, currency stability, national debt, money supply, interest rates, etc,, etc, are and have been guages that forcast, but not necessarily fortell, these cyclic momentum changes. Will it happen....I can guarantee it, It´s just that no one can tell you WHEN it will happen.

These are a characteristic of the capitalist system. You can expect ups and downs periodically. The trick is to know when they are about to occur.

Possibly recession. I highly doubt anything like the depression of 1929. We have safeguards to pretty well prevent that.
