I have seen some on here that are very mean and cruel to Christains, and others who are great, have a lot of respect, but those of you who have a deep seated hatred, why do you have to be so cruel? you cant say because we are annoying, that wont cut it. most people who have such hatred of something, have much deeper problems than just being annoyed. so why take it out on us. we didnt cause it, we dont even know what your problem is. Maybe you should look at yourself and fix the problem before you give yourself a heart attack by blowing a valve or something.

Add the fact that if you're not a (((Christian, you're automatically ostracized by some Christians telling you you're going to hell.
How do you think that makes some people feel?))))

I myself did not tell you any of that, I myself have never pushed it on to the schools, or anything else you are saying, so why, do you take you hatred out on me? I did not do it. fight the people in your area and stop beating the rest of us up.

The biggest likely cause of so-called "Christian-bashing" is the hatefulness and intolerance of a small (but highly-vocal) cult **within** the ranks of *professing* Christians. The cultists are comprised of *pseudo*-Christians -- who look at their supporting its agendas as being part of a support group having such mean-spirited objectives -- and a number of low-IQ actual Christians who have been conned via both peer pressure and the hate-propaganda against personal liberties that constantly is being spewed by the cult's oligarchical leadership.

There is a major *dichotomy* that society (expecially the actual, NON-cult-infested Christians who've been mostly apathetic about the problem) MUST learn -- soon!

83% of Americans are *professing* Christians. The other 17% are non-Christians.

OF that 83% who profess Christianity, only 6% are numbered within the above-mentioned hateful cult. The cult that's best described as the "Religious" Radical Right. (RRR.) The other 94% are the actual Christians who are UNJUSTIFIABLY being bashed by people who mistake them for being *represented* by the ignorant, repressive, and intolerant cultists who (often lyingly) CLAIM to be Christians.

Talk about injustice! The 94% of actual, non-cult-infested Christians are your very NORMAL, sensible, ordinary workaday and fair-minded next-door *neighbors*. People who have NO interest in loathsome agendas that seek to destroy important civil & human rights for tens of millions of people. UNobrusive and NON-busybodyish, very decent and tolerant people. GOOD neigbors.

BOTTOM LINE: If a person wants to oppose a "Christian," he first should make sure that he distinguishes between the bigots of the RRR Cult -- and the actual Christians who DON'T deserve to be painted with that brush. Who happen to be the **vast majority** of the USA's professing Christians.

He should NOT refer to the bigots as "Christians." The cultists are some of the most UN-Christian-acting people in our society... the height of irony!

Well open your eyes!!! When you use religion to control people's lives and basically tell them how to live, how do you think that's going to be received? I'll give you a few examples:

Religion being forced in schools
Courts
Work place
And religion being used to deny certain rights this country was built on.

Add the fact that if you're not a Christian, you're automatically ostracized by some Christians telling you you're going to hell.
How do you think that makes some people feel?

There is nothing wrong with being a Christian or any other religion that calls to you. Religion and beliefs are very personal and most of the time run deep in your soul.
I was raised Christian, Catholic to be more specific, but I never felt truely whole in the Catholic religion or any other Christian path that I tried after that. I began researching religions and found that Paganism made me feel more at peace with who I was.
I have no problem with most of the Christians of the world. The ones that tend to get a lot of the Non Christian's hairs up are the ones that have spewed nothing but hatred and intolerence to those of other faiths/beliefs simply because we do not believe in Christian beliefs. We have the utmost respect and love for those who do not judge and who do not send of messages of how we are going to hell every five minutes.
Some of my closest friends and family members are Christian and we manage to get alone quite well.

Ever hear the phrase - love the sinner, hate the sin? That works both ways. Sometimes when you vigorously condemn an idea, the people who identify with that idea take it personally. Even when I say that there are some great people who are Christians out there, but I believe that Christianity is a faith that worships a jealous child god or that it is pagan mythology gone horribly awry, many Christians take that personally. It's like they can't help it. Yet, the faithful heretics and infidels are supposed to listen to harangues on our religious practices or our ways of life with a shut lip.

I understand your frustration, because you just want to be understood and have a civil debate. It doesn't seem to happen on here. It always degenerates to where someone is going to hell. And that takes away the fun for everyone.

Hail Satan,

Lazarus

I am a pagan who likes Christians. i respect your religion and all that it stands for, It just is not for me and I respect that it works for you. the problem is that most people do not have a live and let live mentality. it is easier to demonize (please excuse the term) Christianity then to see the force it was in history. the problem is also people on the whole are not willing to let go of past wrongs. Wiccans are still pissy about the burning times, which never happened to them personally. also you have to recognize that as the dominate religion, people who attack religion on general principal will attack you as well to get there point across. if the Cult of Isis, or Mithrism had won Rome people would be taking pot shots at them. I hope this helps and don't give up hope that some people are willing to respect your religion on it's own merit.

I personaly see nothing "wrong" with being a Christian, I am one.
I think the thing is that most religions out there are taught to be open minded and accepting of others religions, to treat other religions with respect. And well, not all Christians can say that they do that. There are those that are very respecting, there are those that will completely judge and shun anyone whose not christians and there are those that try to convert people. Of the latter group there are two sub-groups, the ones that do it kindly through love and example, and the ones that do it through fear. And well, people dont like being told they're going to hell.

they are EXTREMELY close minded. some christian chick told me i was going to hell for liking harry potter because it involves witchcraft! I was about ready to slap her- what the hell is wrong with having a freaking imagination? You wonder why i get so annoyed by these religious nuts? Who the hell are they to judge others? You make it sound like there are very few christians who are rude and closeminded but the truth is most christians are.And don't even get me started on the topic of homosexuality! You people judge them and it makes me so freaking disgusted- they're human for god's sake! YOU DIDNT CAUSE IT?? ahahhahanhaaaaahahah- you're the ones telling all nonbelievers that the'yre destined for hell and shoving christ down or throats! Wow are you really that dumb?

Wow, aren't you high and mighty!

Just look at how you responded to this question:

And you wonder why some people have problems with some Christians? You personally called atheists (or non-believers) *sheep*. So before you act like you're the most innocent person in the world, why don't you examine your own hypocrisy first!

Most of the Christians I have been exposed to are extremely judgemental. Not all, but most. They are the only group of people that seem to think that their way is the ONLY way. They are the only ones that deem it their personal responsibility to convert every last one of us to their way of thinking. A little narrow-minded, dontcha think? Christians use under-handed tactics to get converts. Guilt, fear tactics, etc. I get so freaking tired of hearing I am going to hell. I don't believe in your concept of hell. A bible salesman came to our house when I was a little girl and told my mother if she didn't buy his bible, that she was condemned to hell. Harsh? You betcha. When I went to church, I was made to feel totally unworthy of heaven and God's love. I was made to feel I was always coming up short of the glory of God's Kingdom. Who needs that? I was miserable. I did some soul-searching, if you will, and came to realize that Christianity was not for me. It was confirmed in my heart after witnessing all the hypocrisy running rampant in the Christian religion. "Do as I say, not as I do." Most of them was out there breaking every flipping commandment Monday through Saturday and then go to Church and act like they were above reproach. It was depressing and disheartening.

Religion (or lack thereof) is a personal truth. I have found my personal truth.

I can only speak for myself, I don't do it anymore, but I have dished back what has been thrown at me in real life.

Some Christians can be less than nice in the real world. If only people would ask, "What is wrong with not being a Christian?"
