You practice thinking. Do crossword puzzles and time yourself. Do cross sums and time yourself. Do any kind of puzzle that makes you think--it helps not get alzheimers, so it must be exercising your brain. Play Trivial pursuit. Surely there are a lot of games on the web which require quick reactions, not bang!bang! but decision, quick.

Brain Training for the Nintendo DS- seriously that games doeS clear your brain up a bit and makes you faster at maths.
...and/or
By simply doing brain excercises like asking yourself what you had for dinner on friday ect, doing math problems, sums, reading, remembering things e.g. write down 25 numbers or words, remember them for 2mins, then cover them up and write as many as youn can down in 3 mins, try and improve your score ect. Basically, the more actively you use your brain and push it to it's limits, the better you will be.
