controversy question. Why cant you be allowed to sell your organs? It is your body!!!!?

I add it a question about selling your kidney and received quite a few responses. I have been doing a lot of research on this matter and found out about china and the selling of organ within prisoners.

That is an interesting question.

I would think that the ability to purchase organs would cause a huge increase in abduction and murder (for the purpose of selling organs on the black market.) I don't know if that is one of the reasons or not.

I think the reason they won't let us do this in the U.S. is because people will try short cuts to sell the organ by not doing it within a hospital. There would be people getting kidney's and stuff removed in alley ways and motel rooms just to make some money. Not only that but people would begin disappearing because the black market would probably kill people just to make money from their organs.
The idea came to me that we should begin actually killing prisoners on death row after making them as healthy as we can, so their organs could be given to the public. To me it's a perfect way we can make them contribute to a society they've already taken so much from. I know not all prisoners would be healthy enough to take organs from, but some are healthier than the homeless and we could test for that kind of thing. We could probably cut the donor list in half. I think that's just genius, but I also strongly believe in capital punishment.

Let's say you have a REALLY nice- Liver. I mean it's SO "compatible" with the General Population- that EVERYBODY seems to want a "piece" of it..." :) Now a Liver like YOURS could go for a PRETTY PENNY on the "Black Market" if some unscrupulous people could get their hands on it- & sell YOU a "bill of goods" on how to make some Money off of it... -All you "need to do..."- is sign a few papers, make a few "calls"...-and in NO TIME at all, the money will come "rolling in..." Over YOUR DEAD BODY- & THEIR lined pockets!!! .... The bottom line IS, there is TOO MUCH room for ABUSE- to make it legal to sell ones Organs...
