It takes about a month for all the ringworm to go, when treated two or three times daily with the cream.
Yes, the fur all grows back. On white cats the fur may be yellowish, but will be white again when the cat sheds the fur off.
Usually it takes 2 months for the fur to completely grow back to match the length of the other fur around it, but it WILL grow, never fear. I think I remember it growing from the center of the spot first, and then moving outward. You should soon see fuzz sprouting there, and it'll come in just as thick as it used to be.
The vets cream is a 2% solution, but if you need more or want to save money pick up Miconazole (that's the generic name) or Monistat 3 -- both are a 4% solution and the same stuff as the vet cream. It's the stuff used to treat yeast infections in women, so will be in that section of Walgreens or WalMart. The 4% works a little faster than the 2%.
Don't scrub at the spot, that spreads the spores and you get a larger spot of fur falling out. Dab on a little of the cream and spread it into the fur at the edges. The cat shouldn't lick it off (they don't like the taste) so if the dried cream builds up too much just dab a wet kleenex on to get the crusty stuff off to make room for fresh cream on the next treatment. Our Fred was perfectly fine with getting this rubbed ont o the spot on his side, and didn't mind my washing the old stuff off carefuly.
He did give me a spot on my leg--cats are lucky in that they'll heal up from ringworm in a month, but with people it takes 2 months. You can use the same cream on yourself if you get a spot, but make sure you keep a bandage over it too, so it' won't spread to anyone else.
It just looks yucky, it's totally healable.

Yes it will. I have a cat that got it right above the base of her tail and took her to the vet. They gave me an antifungal cream that I had to put on the ringworm for a couple of weeks. It looked horrible, but it went away eventually. The longer you wait to get the cream, though, the worse it gets. It's also contagious.

yes the hair will grow back once it is cured. It is highly contagious. This is one thing humans can actually get from cats.
Here is a site about ringworm

Yes. My cat had a myriad of afflictions when we rescued her, ringworm was one of many she had. Hair grew back. We humans both actually got ringworm on our forearms from holding her so much to comfort her, she was so tiny and scared.
The doctor had us use bleach on a cotton ball a few times a day on the affected area on US to get rid of the ringworm. Don't use bleach on the kitten of course, but if YOU catch it it works on humans. :)

Yes, it will grow back. Be sure to keep up with the treatments and I'd recommend keeping a close eye on it. It can recur if it's not totally killed. It may also look worse before it looks better. at one point my poor cat looked like he'd gone 12 rounds with mike tyson!
