Why can't you lose weight? Is it because you are doing everything right and it still won't come off? Or is it because you can't seem to get yourself to workout and eat right because it's a willpower thing?
If it's the first... talk to your doctor... it could be a problem with your thyroid, or ovarian cysts, or one of many other reasons that can cause you not to be able to lose weight.
If it's a willpower thing... then you just really have to dig in your heels and be responsible for your health. I KNOW it's hard... I have struggled with it for what seems like an eternity.
A couple things to keep in mind that may help... it takes only 3 weeks to build a habit. If you can dig in your heels and keep yourself from eating junk food, and force yourself to go to the gym... after 3 weeks it will feel easier because it will become part of your daily routine rather than a chore.
Sit down each night and plan your meals for the next day. If you plan them while you are hungry or while you are in a hurry, you're more likely to choose junk food.
Eat on a schedule... eat before you get hungry... it will speed up your metabolism. Eat 3 small meals and 2-3 snacks every day.
Working out can be fun if you have a workout partner. Try to find one and you can motivate each other.
Set small attainable goals, and reward yourself when you reach them. Maybe get a massage after you lose 15 pounds or something like that. Or set up a series of rewards for each 10 pounds that you lose.
Good luck!!

My husband is diabetic. We both had excellent results from Herbalife products. We've both lost a lot of weight, have increased energy and feel so much better.
In addition to being a great nutritional program, Herbalife has a supplement called Snack Defense, which helps keep the blood sugar even over a period of time, which is especially helpful for diabetics. Of course, you will want to continue keeping a close eye on your blood sugars.
If you're interested in trying free samples, go to www.rNutrition.net for more information, the only charge is for postage and handling. You'll be glad you gave it a try!!
Best of luck to you.

Well the first thing that I have to say is congradulations on recognizing you have a problem. I am not trying to be mean. I too am over weight at 5'6" and 221lbs. ( I am luck in that I am not a diabetic). I decieded to go to T.O.P,S. - Take Off Ponds Sensibly. This way I am responsible for my weight. They meet once a week. We have a time to weigh in and your weight is recorded by the person who keeps that record. You are the only one who knows how much you weigh. You get a book that your weight is recorded in. It has deposits ( weight gained) and withdrawals ( weight lost). There is never any pressure to take off the weight. The women ( we have a man in our group) are very nice and we are all in the same boat.
I am trying to start walking again. There was a woman in the other TOPS group that had been a 3XXX and now she is about a size 10. She said it took her 3 or 4 years to get the weight off, but she has kept the weight off for about 10 years now. She walks about 5 miles everyday, I believe.
Another person I know joined TOPS and she is now a "BIG LOSER" meanng that she has managed to take off 80 lbs. She was sent a letter and it let her know that she was one of the top losers in New Mexico.
God luck to you. I hope this is of some help. By the way, I have a TOPS meeting tonight.

You should start by seeing a Nutritionist or Dietician. They will help you put together a plan as to what foods are good for you and which ones are not. Depending on what type of health insurance you have, most carriers provide coverage to a few of these, so you can do your research and find out which one is the best for you. Since you are diabetic, it is extremely important to monitor your blood sugar and to watch what you eat. Your family doctor should be able to provide some guidance as well. Good Luck

a good thing 2 do is replace your regular meals with protein enriced ones. lately, ive been in a healthy lifestyle phase and I've found that when yuo stock up n protein (fish, peanut butter) you arent as hungry. And, instead of driving, walk to and from work. You get extra excersise and build muscle carrying things back and forth, which will help you burn excess calories in your sleep!
also, order shape or fitness magazine or just go to shape.com or fitnessmagazine.com. they have great tips for not just losing weight, but getting healthy, and improving your life.

The best way to lose weight is doing exercise.
The best type of exercise for weight loss is something you ENJOY DOING and are likely to continue doing - not just while losing weight but also as you maintain weight in the long term.
Your initial fitness goal should be to do 30 minutes of exercise each day. Thereafter, gradually increase this (ideally) to about 60 minutes of exercise per day.
The best combination of exercise is a mixture of aerobic and weight/strength training (and stretching). Aerobic and weight/strength training exercises both assist weight loss but in different ways.
Check out http://fitness-secret.info , there are some great exercise for weight loss you can choose.

Have you tried weight watchers online? They have a points system, and it's worked really well for my husband and I. Works even faster if you exercise regularly too.
