exercise to burn more calories than you take in. Eat smaller meals more frequently (6 X day). Drink water and sports drinks if you are a super human gym goer! Skip heavy carbs.

Substitute all you beverages with water. In the world of losing weight water is god. Mineral water is best, never distilled. Tap water even will work wonders. Don't drown yourself but drink it often. When your looking for a change throw in some 100% cranberry juice, maybe a little 100% apple juice or even unsweetened tea, but hang with the water for the most part. Exercise of coarse if you can, but the water will take 5 pounds off by itself.

examine your diet and substitute the worst foods for you health-wise for healthier versions.

for 5lbs it isn't much. why do you want to lose 5lbs, or better yet why is 5 the "magic number"?

you shouldn't be using your weight as a gague because it is the least accurate way of measuring if you are fat or not.

The most appropriate way is to measure your body fat %.

what you eat has a MUCH greater effect on your body fat than working out. Although working out is a great supplement to aid in it, it is no substitute for healthy eating.

some common and simple examples of things people eat that you can substitute easily are:

1- soft-drinks, skip em'- even though you would easily lose weight/fat by switching to diet versions, the diet ones still have extra calories that provide no nutritional value whatsoever, best bet is to skip them.

2- commercial juices- contain a LOT of added sugar. if you must have a juiced version instead of eating the fruit (best way for nutrients) buy a juicer.

3- cut out refined carbs. - switch to whole wheat or rye bread. Make sure it says WHOLE wheat instead of just "wheat" in the ingredients as many food companies try to trick you by simply coloring white bread with molases to make it look wheat.

4- use olive oil instead of butter.

5- snack responsibly, eat healthy snacks when hungry like fruits or healthy nuts and seeds (almonds, peanuts, pumpkin).

6- make your dessert count- instead of snacking mindlessly, treat yourself to a dessert you really like 3-4 times a week (instead of nightly) and skip the mindless snacking.

7- avoid foods with High Fructose Corn Syrup and trans fats.

I lost 5 pounds over the last 2 weeks and I don't even notice a slight difference. I am far from over weight I think I just lost water weight. I stopped eating fast food, Smaller portions of sweets and just walked my dog a little longer than usual. I didn't really excercise or deprive myself.

you can detox your body they will make u loose 5 pounds or you can just eat healthy portion control and exercise that would be the healty way

Eat lean meats, vegetables and fruits. Cut out sweets and sodas.

My mom worked with someone who cut out drinking coca-cola and she lost 10 pounds over a month just from that- no other diet. So if you are a soda drinker, eliminate that.

drink a lot of ice water and eat mints in order to feel full also eat a lot fruit snacks like grapes, blueberries etc

only eat lean stuff for lunch and dinner and walk a lot after eating so that you can walk it off after eating i always try to walk it off, i am trying lose more weight as well

ps for breakfast eat malt o meal, oatmeal, or cream of wheat in order to feel full and to be able to not snack all day till lunch

Drink water, lots of it.
Yogurt, veges, fruit, and turkey sandwich on wheat bread, chicken,

it will come off fast.
