This is not meant to be an offensive quesion. I am 24 and when I was ten or so, I saw playboy for the first time and saw it many times. In that era, pubic hair was the norm, now many girls tell me that is no longer the norm.

I was wondering if body hair removal in that area begins because,

1. The girls in men's magizines and videos are doing it.
2. Because older sisters and firends are doing it.
3. Worried about what men might think.
4. Worried about what the doctor will think.
5. It is more confortable.
6. A boyfirend or husband is requesting it.

And when?

1. When it comes
2. Later teens
3. When married

All info would be apreacited. But lets please keep it clean and abide by yahoo's guidelines. If you have a 13 year old, please don't post anything you wouldn't want them to read.

Stay natural, it is a passing fad, and your natural beauty is better.

First of all those remover creams have chemicals in them that can damage and irritate the sensitive skin down there. The best way to remove the hair is shaving it. It is the safest way. I like bikini zone shave gel. It helps avoid any knicks that could easily become infected, and also minimizes ingrown hairs. Waxing hurts too much anyway. 10 Year old shouldnt even be on here, so go find Mommy or Daddy and play yatzee, or something. Or show them how you talk and the question you made any type of comment on.

usually you start shaving when it comes in simply to remove any hair sticking out of a bathing suit. Later you might decide to shave more be cause it's cleaner during "that time of the month". Others remove the hair because their guy likes it. Girls do it for all the reasons above. It's a personal choice, just like men and facial hair (less sexual, I know). And just like men, it's a trend. Maybe the trend will swing back to having a "power muff" like in the 70's and 80's again.

I think women do it for all the reasons you listed. I like it natural on both my husband and me (with a wee bit of maintenance on myself), and so does my husband. Besides, the upkeep can be a real hassle if you remove all your hair. I guess we're just kind of retro. I'm 26 and he's 31, and it feels like we're just past the age where most people do this. I'm glad he doesn't pressure me to "take it all off".

I'm not sure when most women do it, but I'd guess 1 or 2, because when I was a teenager we didn't discuss that among all the usual teen girl body discussions.

It's funny how most women think men prefer clean shaven, but I'm just the opposite. I prefer the more natural look and don't mind the hair at all. I don't even find girls who don't shave their armpits unattractive, although that seems to have disappeared with the hippies.

It is a personal preference. Some do it because they don't have to worry about it showing in a bathing suit. Sometimes they just like the way it feels or it could be a personal preference of their partner.

I am in my late teens and have done that because my boyfriend wanted me to, simply put. Now, I find it more comfortable, but it began as a request from my boyfriend. I'm not sure how much that answers your question(s), as I do not know why or when other girls do it

i would say # 5 to the first and I started at about 16. Its easier not to worry about any thing pecking out of my swim suit bottom to begin with and it's also cleaner during my period (i won't go into details you get the picture).

Why does the dreaded pube question have to come up every ten minutes? I mean, really!

Are pubes REALLY all that interesting to you?

It's a preference and a style. SO what?

Get over it.

And don't ask about your penis size next...

Well yes, I do shave my pubes. Why? Because I think it's disgusting, and I do love to wear my bikini while at the beach.

I don't know about men though.

I removed mine the first time when I was about 28 (single but in had a bf) and liked it gone so much I kept it removed ever since.

I did it because a girlfriend of mine kept herself shaved and raved about how much better she liked it. I found she was right...more sensitive w/o hair for sure, and easier to keep the area clean, and nicer for guys not having to pick hair out of their teeth. ☺ ( I don't like doing it, so why expect them to?)
