Ford Oil Capacity Chart

The towing capacity of your vehicle should be on the driver's side door, on the inside. Kind of like the jamb, but on the door itself. It should be where it latches, either on the jamb itself, or on the door. So, look there, it should tell you it's maximum hauling weight. I believe that the hauling weight is the same as the towing weight, it's just phrased differently. My brother's 5 cylinder Colorado had a maximum hauling/towing weight of like 875 pounds. Your Ranger is probably about the same, maybe a little more if you've got the V6 version. Stars and Stripes forever! Have a nice day. :)

Older ones took 5qts.. these vehicles can hold 5 qts with no real ill effects that I've observed

6qts will cause issues with possibly running of the motor, but usually will help cause leaks.....

5 quarts. Your local dealer was incorrect. If you put 6 in it, you will be draining some back out because it is too much.
