When you use the save feature power point adds 8k to the file, no matter what, but not if you use the save as feature. Why is that? What is that 8k for?

You can try yourself. Make a very basic ppt file. "save as" whatever you want to call it and check the file size. Then open it and click the "save" icon that is shaped like a disk a few times without making any changes. Now check the file size again. It added to the file size....but why?

I don't quite understand your question.

Normally, we only "save as" once to give the file a name and save it to disk.

If you "save" every 15 min. or so while working, the additional work you have done is saved and added to the file, and you remain in file to continue working.
