Place an ice pack on the back of your neck and lay in a darkened room for fifteen minutes. This should really help.

Well it needs to be known what type of headache you have. If you have been sitting at the computer for a while you get two types of headache. 1 Stress or 2. Tension/ eye strain. This two will be that you hurt at the base of the back of your neck and that your eye are feeling tight and strained. With this left you heard back to look at the roof hold for a few min then bring you head back up *** slowly because you can get dizzy*** and only go back as far as it is comfortable. Then you take a warm compress and put it on your neck then take it of and put cold on your eyes. These are the most common ones.

Then you have a migraine. Some happen and you feel a strong ache behind your eyes and all over your head, you also are sensitive to light, sound and smell. This one is real bad take a cool shower let the water run over your head. Then lie down with a cloth that has some lavender oil and its cool. Be in a dark room. And let it be quiet and take some ibuprofen if need be.

I have been having headaches from the time I was 10. You learn over years that you don’t want meds to mask the pain. For my migraine I have a small pillow case that I keep packed in a plastic bin with some lavender oil on it. When I get one I might put more lavender on it if needed but don’t make it a strong sent just light smell. I then take either a bag of frozen peas or corn put it in the pillow case. This is after I have taken a cool shower and then I lay down. This way you don’t build up resistance to meds that you might really need.

Many times the reason for a headache is dehydration....even slight dehydration. You should increase your fluids over the next day or two. Water is great and you might even try some sports drinks because they have salt, sugar and other necessary electrolytes.

For immediate relief, if you've only taken 1 Advil, you may increase that to 4 tablets (800 mg) every 6-8 hours as needed. That is the prescription strength a physician would give you.

Hope you feel better!

I find what works best when I am getting a headache is the Excedrin Tension Headache with caffeine. Usually if I feel one coming on I take two and it will stop it. If I already have one it takes a little longer to stop it.

That's the only thing that works for headaches for me. I've tried so many different pills and remedies. I keep a bottle of them in my purse for emergencies. Generic versions of them are available as well and work just as good.

If it gets worse or you keep getting the headaches often then see a doctor.

You might try Excedrin (or Exc. Migraine), has caffeine to help get rid of a headache. Feeling nauseous, try a benadryl. May make you sleepy, will settle your stomach. A cool, quiet, dark room to lie down. Send the kids to the neighbor's. If you're having more headaches, you might see a doc., maybe a neurologist who specializes in headaches, to prevent - not just medicate. Could be food or allergy related.

I was having severe headaches a few years ago to the point where my regular doc sent me to a neurologist. Along with the "oh surprise you have migraines" diagnosis, we found out the main causes of my "normal" headaches were: 1) being too tired, and 2) low sugar levels (hypoglycemia). Since your brain needs more sugar to function than any other part of your body, this made sense to me. Make sure you've eaten something with carbs recently (to retain the sugar in your system longer), and lay down for a while!

Sounds like a migraine. You should definately go to a Dr. to find out the cause. He/She may give you migraine medication that will stop these kind of headaches in their tracks. Worked wonder for me after suffering from them since I was a little child. I have been taking Imatrex for 10yrs and wonder of wonder, no more headaches. Good luck to you!

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.
