How do you know if a food is poisoned?

If you mean food poisoning, you get really bad upset stomach, you regurgitate, you get a fever, diarrhea. Salmonella is a sneaky one. Botulism can kill. If the food is discolored, bruised or has a bad smell, Don't eat it.

Now if you are talking about poisoned food, generally you can't tell until you are deathly ill and then it is usually too late.

Okay now do you mean "Poisoned" like someone's trying to kill you? cause if thats the cases you can't tell most poisons are odorless and tasteless. But if you mean if a food is contaminated, like with bacteria or a food borne-illness, you can't really tell that either, because that is usually as well tasteless and odorless. So I guess you can't really tell...So you wont know until you have consumed it...But if you think your food is contaminated with something Don't Eat It!
