We belive that a person should be free to choose their following tendencies and not have them imposed.
As the Romans and other christian religions imposed themselves on the Britains, I believe we were Pagans and Druids before the Romans set foot on this isle, i myself like to be called a tree hugger for my beliefs belong to the earth i was born from and to which i will return. so my question is can a person still be excepted into a Pagan way of life ?

We don't draw such strict lines between our communities and others. Baptism and even initiation aren't important, unless it has meaning for practitioner, in which case knock yourself out.

All you really need is to decided you are a pagan, and to accept your fellow pagans. But if a ceremony or ritual makes it feel right, feel free to create one. Think about your reasons and your goals and hopes and intentions, and create a ceremony that symbolizes those things. I like to include the elements.

Lammas is next week!

Your family members may be correct as far as the rules of their own religious beliefs go, but you have stated that you do not follow those religious beliefs and have chosen another spiritual path. If that is the case the religious rules that your family follows do not apply to you. You may not be allowed to marry in their church, but why would you want to? Marriage is a legal relationship that is controlled by the civil laws of the state and county where you reside. You don't have to be baptized according to those laws to get married. All you normally need is to pay a fee for a marriage license, possibly get some blood tests and within a designated time frame have a properly licensed person issue a marriage certificate. (All accompanying ceremony and/or ritual is completely optional.)

One may accept the Water of Life-Uisge Beatha-and join with those who have already started down the Path of Mystery.

It`s easy to find. The English translation is"Whiskey"-it`s a Druidic Thing!

Baptism WAS used by various Cultures long before the xtians "borrowed" it.

It`s easy to become "Pagan"-just do it!

Pagans follow their natural tendencies. We were here first living most naturally, by the laws of nature. Sounds like you are living naturally - that's what a Pagan is. Those who live in nature, follow her laws, and whose hearts are filled with the love of. But, if you want the hype - "SPLASH" - consider yourself baptized! Really, its that easy. You just accept your natural self and....phoof, you're a Pagan. Blessed Be

You can be initated into a Pagan religion, but baptized is definately the wrong word. If you are looking for recconstructionist druid paths, you can look up http://www.druidry.org/ or http://www.adf.org/core/

If you're Wiccan you can give your child a Wiccaning, rather than a baptism.

I believe as you do that my ancestors were force by the sword and through fear and intimidation to join Christianity. I am searching fo my true ancestorial belief system and what it means . I am an American of English, Irish and Austrian descent.

Why not? It's all make believe. I personally believe that my 1999 Saturn SC1 is actually a unicorn and that I work in an enchanted forrest with elves.
