I bet this question has been asked a million times. But ive decided to start saving up my money to buy one of these consoles. The only reason i would buy a 360 is because of how cheap it is, ive never been an xbox person, always a playstation person. Im really looking forward to metal gear solid 4 also for ps3 (not sure if its coming out for 360 or not) anyways back to the point, can somebody please list some hard facts on why which console is better then the other, and what one is the best buy. Thanks!

I have both the 360 and the PS3 and I can tell you that I'm already on my THIRD 360. Just take the time to look at some of the links below and you will see which of the two systems is more reliable:

PS3 Reliability

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/take-that,-msoft/ps3-failure-rate-less-than-one-percent-275179.php

The PS3 has less than a 1% failure rate, whereas the 360 has a 33% failure rate.

As far as cost goes..... well, I can tell you that after buying all the "EXTRAS" for the 360, the PS3 came out cheaper. This is what I ended up paying for both systems:

Xbox 360 = $399
WiFi card = $100
HD DVD player = $200
Xbox live = $50 (1 year subscription)

TOTAL = $749

PS3 = $599

So you see, the 360 ISN'T CHEAPER than the PS3.

Also, these are the things the PS3 has that the 360/Elite doesn't

-WiFi ($100 option on Xbox)
-BluRay player.
-Media Card Reader.
-FREE online access ($50 a year fee on Xbox)
-Version 1.3 HDMI (the Elite only has version 1.2)
-Ability to upgrade Hard Drive.
-Upscales DVDs to HD quality.
-Upscales PS1 and PS2 to HD quality.
-Ability to hook up a printer to it.
-Ability to edit pictures.
-Loading slot for Discs (the Xbox still has a tray)
-Support for up to seven (7) controllers.

HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK!

Well as an xbox 360 owner i am sad to tell you, metal gear solid won't be coming for the the 360, however the 360 this fall has some many great games coming out, that maby you'll forget about metal gear solid. Well look the 360 is great expect if you don't plan on getting xbox live, then your not getting the full expereince and your going to feel like your missing out. The ps3 has wi fi built in, so it would easy to connect to the internet, also blu-ray player, which you probably already know. But look it all comes down to what you already have, if you have and hd tv and wifi get the ps3, because theres no point in blu ray if theres no hd. Basically both systems will have roughly the same sport games and multiplatform shooters. If your looking for the better games this year, then go 360, if you are a die hard mgs fan, you have to go with the ps3, because its bound to come out with some great games eventully.

I, too, prefer Playstation over Xbox. It all comes down to what type of games you like best. Personally, I LOVE those looooong role-playing games. I am curently working on Final Fantasy XII. LOVE it!

Xbox seems to focus mostly on arcade/ action games. Not my type. Do reearch!
