My kids start school on Aug 23. Which is a Thursday, Which means, I have to pay for a FULL week of child care even though they won't be there Thursday or Friday, that $75. Why do the schools do that?

My school got out on a Wed. so they probably start them up like that too... Maybe they just want to annoy people, especially like you.

Local school boards never concern themselves with this. They only look at what works for them, and rarely, do they ask for community input, despite what they claim. Educators recreate and reinvent the wheel, and waste so much money. In Connecticut, schools are run by designated teacher, not overpaid supervisors. There are no principals! Teachers usually are concerned with day to day stuff, and also, think about the problems of students and parents. opf times, supervisors and higher ups are too often concerned with their vacation homes, etc.
