Is it similar to the effects of a tylenol 3 or what? Just curious because I have a small child and don't want to take something that will dope me up. Thanks.

I want to know if it will give me a drugged up loopy feeling like other pain prescriptions do (codeine, etc) or if it just treats pain without those "loopy" feelings.

I haven't filled the prescription yet. Is there anyone with a helpful answer around here?

Ultram was made to relief pain and not give that narcotic pain medicine feeling. Although some people do have a loopy feeling when they first start taking it. I would suggest trying it at night before you go to bed. I have taken everything from tylenol#3 to vicodin for back pain and the ultram helped just as well and after 2 days of taking it the loopy feeling went away.

I take ultram and I can tell you it is nothing like Tylenol 3. Tylenol 3 makes me sleep. I take Ultram for back pain. The ultram helps a great deal with it. Sometimes I take two but thats usually at night. It all depends on how well your body responds to pain medication. If your concerned about if it will dope you up, have someone with you for a while until you see how it affects you...

I know of many people including myself who have used Ultram and did not get any Drugged feeling. I take it when ever I have severe pain, it was designed to not give a narcotic Feeling. I don't think you will have a problem taking this medication. I advise trying it at nighttime so you can see how it reacts on you.

ultram is a very weak pain reliever...depending on what kind of pain you have, you are better off trying NSAIDS (advil, aleve, motrin etc). I agree with the other person, it isn't even worth filling the script.

It did absolutely nothing for me. No side effects and no pain relief either. It was a waste of money as far as I was concerned. I was treating fibromyalgia and headaches. I have a niece who is about 24 and it really provides her with good relief for headaches.

it depends on how you are with pain pills everything works diffrent for diffrent people.I suggest maybe getting it filled and take it like when you have a chance to lay down and relax and see if it makes u tired (maybe an hr before you are going to bed)
