Why can't religious people just admit that they don't know. Why do we as humans have to make up bullcrap stories and than make fun of those who don't buy into those bullcrap stories. You have the Christians who believe that some invisible man in the sky created the world in 7 days, the buddhists believe that someone cracked open an egg and out popped existence. Ironically enough, Muslims have no problem with the Big Bang Theory of the Theory of Evolution, but they still believe in a lot of stupid crap. Why can't people just admit "I DON"T KNOOOOOOOOOOW." As an atheist, I will be the first one to admit that I have no bloody clue as to how the universe came into existence and to how life came about. Instead of making up some retarted story, I just admit that I have no clue.

It isn't for me. I say it all the time.
I don't know if what I believe is the absolute truth.
I don't know WHY I believe that some of the Bible is allegorical and some is literal. I don't KNOW wht God lets good people suffer.
I don't know why some atheists make fun of me for admitting I don't know.
Heck, you look a lot better when you just say, "I don't know" than you do if you make up a story.
We agree on something, even if you are an atheist and I am a Christian. Cool!
I love this question.....star for you.

When a little child drops their drink on the floor, and their irate, judgmentally conditioned parent asks them, "WHY did you do that?" The child typically responds: "I don't know!"
The child is telling the absolute truth as far as his knowledge will permit. He is typically scolded: "YES YOU DO, DON'T YOU LIE TO ME!!! and the child, more confused than ever, starts to cry, as he knows he is in a no-win situation, yet again, and punishment for telling the truth is on the way, even though he has complied perfectly with the demand. This goes on and on, and eventually society is inundated with this kind of stupidity. The cycle of oppression never ceases, and the wars of mankind become the sole purpose of his existance.
Several people have addressed this issue of the persecution of truth over the course of history, always with the same result: persecution and death.
(just like the child's conscience). Some of these people are as follows:
Moses
Enoch
Elijah
Jesus of Nazareth
James the Just
Mahatma Ghandhi
Anwar Sadat
One does not need to be religious to comprehend what these
men said, and did.

If you're talking about this in relation to Y!A, you're not going to get this as a reply because no one would bother replying to say they didn't know the answer.
There might well be lots of people who would admit they didn't know, but they won't be the ones responding to such a question, so we don't know how many there are.

Why do you have such a hard time admitting that you don't know there is no God? After all, there is no definitive proof there isn't one. Scientists have been trying to find that proof for years, and haven't been successful, so your assertion that there is no God is just as unprovable as mine that there is.
Why can't you just admit that you don't know?

Sadly, our education system - secular and religious - tends to punish people who admit they don't know an answer, thus conditioning a response even if there is no knowledge. "Good try, Johnny" sounds better than "What do you mean you don't know? Didn't you read the assignment?"

Hmmm...well, here's a "bullcrap" story I don't buy:
Miiiiiillllllllions of yeeeeeeeaaaars ago, "nothing" exploded and made stars and planets. One of these planets got wet, and the water came alive and then these little creatures popped out on land. Then they graaaaaaddddually turned into humans and here we are.
DUMB DUMB DUMB!

I don't know, but what's wrong with people trying to explain what's aroung them? and it's not like there are no answers - start looking around you and you'll see. at least all the people you mention have tried to explain it, rather than just sitting typing out nothingness.
