This guy dug through the entire life history of Mother Theresa, found one indiscretion, and now someone calls her the spawn of Satan!!! Forget the tens of thousands of lives she saved, she didn't want to let someone get divorced, so shes worse than Hitler, right?

I mean, come on! Criticizing a priest who is accused of molestation is one thing, although I would not do it myself ("judge not", and I have a LOT of things I don't want to be judged on!) But I guess they're running out of ammo, so now they turn on and attack a little old lady whose life was devoted to helping the poor and homeless!!

Anyone else find this amusing?

Mother Theresa was a human being just like the rest of us. Capable of mistakes, flaws and all things related to "the human condition".

It is an age old war against atheists and those who believe. I knew one atheist openly say one of their goals was to destroy organized religion.

In all cases, no matter the reason, those whom insult others (particularly on a public forum) are insecure about their OWN beliefs and feel the need to attack others who think differently to feel better about their own choices. Others yet, are simply cynical and resent God in general whatever form they believe, due to their circumstances. This is a lie from satan. You can be happy in ANY situation, no matter how dire. It's a way of thinking and a lifestyle...a choice *you* make and you have to put a lot of effort in to it. But it does work.

I really don't find it very funny, however, I find it rather sad that we behave like this. We live on a huge planet. You would think there would be enough room for all faiths (yes atheism is a faith, the faith in nothing), races and personalities. But still we hate, still; we hurt one another.

Solution: We *all* have a lot of growing up still left to do.

The atheists that have read pieces of the Bible and that think they know it better than believers that have studied it all their lives is highly amusing.

Theres quite a difference between the Christian trying to save the lost out of compassion and Scriptural mandate verses the atheist trying to tear down everyones faith because they hate the idea of God, they dont like anything we do, and want to silence the church remaking society in their own secular image.

Not really, what I find amusing is that you're having a fit over some dork who ragged on mother theresa and now you're trying to equate that with some kind of gross generalization about 'the atheists'. When someone like yourself makes himself look foolish by attempting to equate ONE POSTER's comment with the philosophy of large population, do I then use that to show how utterly lame ALL CHRISTIANS are? No, not so much.

You are assuming that Christopher Hitchens represents all Atheists. Christopher Hitchens is trying to get people to buy his books (very successfully) by generating controversy. Did Hitler and Franco represent all Catholics? Did pope Urban II, Innocent III or Alexander VI represent all Catholics (wait a minute... )?

I don't think Atheists need to work very hard to find evil in the Christian faith. Nor do Christians need to search hard for bad Atheists (the Marxists, for example). The truth is, evil comes in all creeds.

Of course, I assumed you were referring to Hitchens in the first place (he wrote a book about it). POOF!!! You and I are now donkeys!

Let me start by saying I'm a deist.. so I don't have any reason to defend either side.. but yeah, it is silly.. when people deteriorate to attacks of this nature it is usually because they themselves are very confused and can't find answers to their own questions.. and rather than thinking and searching they have resorted to bashing one of the views. It's not all atheists but rather some.. just as there are some Christians who do the same... in the end people need to mind their own business and find what is right for them.. that's my opinion.

I highly doubt an Atheist is very likely to all anyone 'spawn of satan'.

And the funny part about it all is... he never once used the term "Spawn of Satan" to describe her. That's something YOU added.

He IS stupid for accusing Mother Theresa of being a bad person for ONE mistake. She was literally a saint on Earth.

Where does it say the person who posted this was an atheist?

And they are only pointing out that she appears to have a different set of rules for the rich as the poor.

Nothing else, really.

I called her the spawn of satan?? Thanks for puttting words into my mouth, oh pious one!!!!

Go read the question. I was asking why she gave a contradictory message to people. And, this wasnt just one indescretion. If you'd like to discuss her other "crimes" such as hanging out with despot leaders and accepting money stolen from the US people in the 1980's S&L scams and refusing to return it to the Govt., we can discuss those as well.

Otherwise, I asked a simple question. But, again, thanks for putting words into my mouth, and making me say something I never said. Must you lie and exaggerate in order to make a point? Because I didnt have to lie or exaggerate to make mine, did I?

I don't find 'attacks' on Christians by Atheists - or vice versa - to be amusing, no.

Not that an attack on one Christian or one Atheist should be considered an attack on all. Leave that kind of logic to the Muslims and NATO.
