is it ok to eat a live Lobster (Boiling a live lobster)?

Question

as i read in Islam, it's forbidean to torture or punish any living thing with fire. then how about cooking a live lobster in a Boiling water? is that allowed?

Then in that circumstance you would have the kill it humanely and then cook it, and as a lobster has no blood and cannot be bled like an animal done in the Halal and Kosher methods of dietary laws , it would have to be dimembered and let stand until the bodily fluids have been drained, I was a chef and then there were times were I had to do lobster newburg and thermidor with a live lobster, and the chinese restaurants are the same cutting it into pieces when still moving and cooking it before the nerves have deadened.

Place the lobster in the freezer for approximately 1/2 hour before boiling. They say this is the most humane way to boil a live lobster.

I've always thought the practice of boiling a lobster alive is cruel... though that hasnt stopped me from eating it. I don't think i could cook it myself. Some chefs pull them apart and cut them up while they are still alive as well. though in all fairness, the lobstes closest land relative is a cockroach, so it may not have the brains to know its suffering. tough call.

You have to have a live lobster and put it in boiling water. Once a lobster is dead before it is cooked it becomes poison and you would not want to eat it.

well to really believe islam you must consider just how many HUMANS are killed by the followers of islam
boiling is faster than beheading or the ritual bleeding of the animals. who are hung by the hind feet to 'Drain the blood from the meat.'
( it can't be done )
but the insane rule is not the method of cooking

if you dunk them into boiling water head first, they are dead immediately, so no torture.
(if you dunk them tail first .... ouch, I'd rather not think about it.)

Well you could be like others of the islam stab it, shoot it, cut off its genetals, cut of a limb, poke out its eyes... You get it how would you like to die slow as mentioned above or fast boiling????????
