In the summer do you just have to have ice cream sandwiches? In the winter do you just love nuts? Someimes I cant get enough of one food , then I cant stand it for a year or more. what about you?

I didnt mean seasonal food cravings, that why Imentioned the nuts which are avaialble year round same with ice cream. I meant food craving for the flavor or texture itself. Sunflower seeds were my daily staple for almost a year ,now I dont buy them at the same rate, same for yogurt, Everyday everyday then .....no thanks

I think your right about that one. When its hot you want something cold. And when its cold you want something warm.

Yes, I kind of do, but my cravings are more seasonal. In fall and winter, I begin craving heavier, hearty meals like homemade lasagna, spaghetti, beef stews, hearty soups and breads, then in spring and summer start craving lighter foods - more seafood, chicken, salads and fruits. Had a craving last weekend for my first watermelon of the year, and love cantelopes this time of year too. Happy eating to all!!

Besides the fact that I'm pregnant at the moment...
In the summer I always crave fair lemonade, deep fried fresh pickles, corn on the cob, and lots of fruit.
In the fall you have to have pumpkin donuts, cider, and caramel apples.
Winter... hot chocolate, nuts, peppermint, and cheesecake.
Spring... kinda blends with the summer craving.

Yes
Probably more the seasons and the fact that you see salads advertised or talked about more in the summer, same with watermelon, strawberries, ice cream, etc.. so kinda of gets in your mind and when winter comes we turn to comfort food but all the magazines have it on their covers.

During the summer, I crave watermelon. I can't get enough of it and can eat it 5-6 times a week.

yeah I go through that all the time. In the summer most people eat easy to fix foods such as fresh fruit and salads and smoothies. Something cold and fresh. In the winter you like to curl up in your bed with a bowl of soup to warm you up.

what we do, like eating, leaves a path on our brains that inform our behavior in the future. It's common for us to eat lots of ice cream in the summer, soups and stews in winter, etc.

Food cravings are usually associated with things you did at the time you ate those foods. So I guess that if you ate bananas in the rain every time it rained you would crave bananas...
