Be it at home or in a restaurant my choice would be the same.
With american style pizza, beer... or maybe coke if I had to drive.
With proper italian thin wood fired pizza, wine... but not a fancy one, just a nice easy drinking table one.... and then a cab if I had to drive :-)

Beer with pizza at home, if you are just dinning casually with friends.
Wine if you have an Italian pizza from a restaurant (not fast food) and it is a formal occasion
Wine if you want it to be romantic.
I don't like Wine, so i rather drink beer.So this depends on what you and the others enjoy most!

If it has to be one of the two, I go with Beer because I don't like wine. But I prefer just a Diet Coke, thank you.

for some reason beer seems to go with pizza a lot better than wine.
More refreshing - Beer is more neutral and cleanses the palate while wine is fruity and clings to the palate.
Yeasty beer with yeasty pizza dough.

It depends on your preference in Italy I would prefer a nice glass of red wine but here in the states I would lean more towards beer

Pepsi. The sugar is a good contrast to the pizza's saltiness.
