Whats a good, affordable crossbow for beginners?

I'm looking to spend under $100. I just want something to use in the backyard for target shooting...Any tips advice you can offer about crossbows would be helpful too, thanks

OK.Try SportsmansGuide.com. They have four different manufactures that are all decent crossbows and start around $100. They have Models from Horton,Eagle, Guide Gear. I' own a few myself and I would tell you right off the bat to avoid one that has a "Prod" (Bow) made out of steel. Stick with Fiberglass or fiberglass and wood laminated prods. They will last much longer and shoot quieter should you decide to try hunting. Also for a beginner get one with a regular Bow and not a model that has a Compund Bow (The kind with cables and wheels......avoid) The only other tip I have you need to know is about the Bolts/Arrows. Try and find arrows made from Fiberglass or carbon, the aluminm arrows bend easily if you hit a rock or hard object and they are ruined. The fiberglass and carbon will last long and take the punishment of long use. Realize that you are just starting out so the number of crossbows in your price range is somewhat limited. You can always upgrade and spend a couple of hundred more or to several thousand dollars if you wish. Good Luck!

look in sporting goods magazines. i saw a 50 lb one on ebay for $5 i was going to get it but i didnt.
