what could make my left nipple hurt. Just the top of the nipple hurts, not the whole breast or the other nipple. It's a little red but bairley....I'm just wondering what would make it hurt. I took a pregnacy test the other day, just in case, and it's negative. I've been taking hormones that is supposed to make my period come so I can get on birthcontrol because my gyno says I'm not ovulating correctly (I'm 21 by the way).
I'm just really wondering....please....some opinions on what it could be.

More than likely it is all due to the hormones. It might help to take a hot/ really warm cloth and lay it on your breast. If it continues to hurt after a week or so call and let your Dr know and have it looked at. I wouldn't get worried yet. and if you were pregnant it would be both hurting and the entire breast would be achy and the nipples painful. Good luck sweetie

It could be irritation from your bra?
Infected follicle?
Just keep an eye on it to make sure that the redness doesn't get bigger and spread out more around it. If it does, call your doctor and let them take a look at it.

Call your doctor. It is probably from the hormones. They can really make them hurt.

Could be a form of breast cancer. if u also have a small lump then u better go to the doctor becus it is.
