Congrats !! I'm going on 3 years myself.
It has to do with de-toxifying, your body is looking to replace the minerals & nutrients that smoking was depleting. I had great success snacking on Granny Smith Apples & Watermelon. It helped reduce the cravings, also coffee in the morning was tough for me (usually because I had a couple of smokes with it)
so I actually cut out the coffee for a while. Good luck with quitting !

It's probably because your body is trying to get rid of the toxins from the cigarettes and veggies and fruit juices make your body feel better. The more you eat the happier your body will be. Congrats by the way. I quit smoking over three years ago. Good Luck!!!

Smoking tends to curve the appetite. Since you're not smoking your appetite has increased. Better veggies and fruit juice than candy and sweets. My friend, says everything taste better when you stop smoking.
Keep up the good work. I know you can make it.

Sounds like a kickazz side effect. I cant quote any sources, but remember reading that smoking destroys vitamin C. Smoking has always been an appetite suppressant so go with it... and GL 2u

First off, congrats! Part of this is because your body is lacking some of the nutrients it needs--and it's craving the foods that will provide them. Another part of it is that you are starting to regain some of your sense of smell (and therefore taste).

While you were smoking, there were certain vitamins your body was not getting. So now it's making up for lost time.
Congratulations on quitting!
