Do i sleep w/ my hair tied up, or naturally down? I've heard that if u sleep w/ it down you get split ends, and if you sleep w/ it up, it pulls ur hair. Which one, and why? And can u give me links?

sometimes when you sleep with it up it will pull hair, but not by much. If you sleep with it down, keep it out of your face, because the oils in your hair can give you pimples. I sleep with my hair down, but with a headband.

I don't have any links; I could tell you from experience (I have long hair).

I sleep with my hair in a bun; its easier to brush in the morning. If you sleep with your hair down, your hair will get tangled and you will have a devil of a time untangling your hair.

When I have my hair in a bun, it doesn't pull my hair; and I don't know about the split end if the hair is down. If you want wavy hair sleep with a braid in your hair overnight.

it really depends for me- I sleep with my hair down if I want it a little flatter, but if I want more volume, then I put my hair up in a ponytail at night. And I sometimes sleep with it wet, put up in a bun, to give it some curls (since my hair is boringly straight!)

i think its based on comfort..hair up can keep hair out of your face and eyes and keep you cool at night. But hair up can also make your hair tangly in the morning. Im sure you can pull hair strings tossing and turning but it wouldnt be that many. Neither is harmful to your hair. You do more damage to your hair blow drying it after a shower.

you need to sleep with your hair in a medium fitting bun. It doesnt pull your hair and it doesnt break off your hair like sleeping with it down does... sleeping with your hair down will cause hair loss and breakage... thats why their is probably hair on your pillow...
