I'm looking for a recipe for meatloaf that does not use any type of tomato---no tom. sauce, no tom. paste--no ketchup or bbq sauce or anything with tomatos in it---allergies!! :)

This one is so easy, my 9 year old loves this and she usually makes it herself.

Stovetop stuffing meatloaf

1 box of Stovetop Stuffing savory herbs
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 1/2 # ground beef

Mix together first 3 ingredients, gently mix in ground beef, shape into loaf and bake at 350 for an hour.

I only put ketchup on the top of my meatloaf so this recipe may be good for you, although I find it a bit time consuming. Probably the only parent in the neighborhood that doesn't make it at least once a week. But it is really moist and yummy.

1 lb. meat loaf mix. (My supermarket has this in the butcher section a mix of pork, burger and veal, but you could make it yourself)
1 large onion
1 large pepper
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/4 c. parm cheese
seasoning salt

Sautee your onions and peppers with a little seasoning salt until they are soft. Let them cool. In anothe dish mix the bread crumbs and milk. Let the bread crumbs totally absorb the milk. Believe me it makes a difference. The only milk I have not used for this is skim milk, which generally leaves me with evaporated and/or some type of cream I have left from another recipe. Then add everything else and mix lightly. Don't pack the loaf too tightly. Bake at 375 for about 40 minutes. The only difference and what you are asking for and what I do is that I add about a 1/2 c. of ketchup on top when the meatloaf is almost done.

Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf Recipe courtesy Paula Deen

1 pound ground chuck
10 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 (8-ounce) package sharp Cheddar, grated
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup bread crumbs, toasted
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (3-ounce) can French fried onions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck and next 8 ingredients, mixing well.

Press meat mixture into a 9 by 5 by 3-inch loaf pan, or shape into a loaf and place on a rack in a broiler pan. Bake 40 minutes. Top with French fried onions; bake another 10 to 15 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink.

If you have the Better Homes Cookbook, they have an awesome meatloaf recipe. You'd just have to leave the ketchup or BBQ sauce off the top.

Mm mother always used a can of creme of mushroom soup the way other people use tomato sauce, ketchup or soup. We never liked the tomaty kind of meat loaf either. Just use any meatloaf recipe and use a can of creme of mushroom instead.

I'm allergic to tomatos too, so I use a regular meatloaf recipe and instead of breadcrumbs as a filler, I use crused up cheddar crackers (like Cheez-Its). You need that extra zip if you don't add the tomatos. Make sure you add one egg, so that it doesn't dry out with the crackers.
Good luck!
