Athiests are just like you and me, they are completely normal, they just believe in something different. Not believing in a god figure is just their own personal belief, and it has nothing to do with their personality and/or charicteristics. It is a horrible generalization to say that all athiests are murderers or suicidal or anything of the sort. In many cases, they are simply misunderstood.

And for your information, I myself am not an athiest, but members of my close family are, therefore I know that not all athiests have no morals and would go off and kill 1,000 people.

I hope this answer opens up your mind about athiests.

Oh, and to Julian Cross, I am a Reform Jew, and I don't believe in Jesus Christ. I live a perfectly fine life, and I think it's wrong to say the world was horrible before a religious figure that many people don't even believe in came along.

Because I like people. I highly value those around me. Part of the reason is instinctual. Humans are congretory animals. However, even on a personal level, I really enjoy life with other people around.

I realize that we are all here living a limited life and trying to get by day by day. So, I give them the same respect I would want them to give me, for the same reasons.

In addition to that, my life would be made very poor if I went around killing people. Not only would I probably get arrested and perhaps killed, but I would also put off others that know me and who I value.

If the only thing holding you back from murdering a 1000 people is a bribe and a threat, then you are truly immoral.

Just 1000 random people, or 1000 people who are really, really deserving of death? Because, honestly, I'd feel pretty bad about killing just 1 person if he didn't really deserve it. Hell, I'd probably feel bad about it even if he did. I don't know why, though, because I'm not a Christian, and as we all know, they wrote the book on morality, leaving the rest of the Jesus-deprived world to suffer in ignorance. Hard to believe we survived as a species before Jesus came along, huh?

I can't. I have evolved empathy for others which prevents me from performing such an act. Plus I have no religious beliefs which would provide a warped justification for such an atrocity.
