Yeah, the frames should take the weight no problem
If anything goes first, it will be the wheels. Make sure to pick up a bike that has "double-walled" rims as opposed to single. They're much stronger.
Only other suggestion is that a splined bottom bracket and crank is stronger than square tapered.
As for frame size, yes. go to a bike shop and get fitted though... Some XL frames come stock with double walled rims too!
Good luck, and enjoy the riding

No problem, you will just need to find the right bike.
CT is very right in paying attention to the wheelset. Look only for wheels that are 32 or 36 spokes. Some lighter wheelsets come in 24 (noodles) or 28, but they aren't that strong. Of course, there are different kind of spokes, but generarily, go for 32 spokes.
If you get a mountain bike with front suspension, (aka hardtail), make sure that the fork is coil, not air. While air forks are getting better, coil are stronger. You would possible need to change the coil for your weight, though.
I don't know your budget, so it's hard to recomend a specific bike.
Kona makes strong bikes, check the Hoss.

I am going to jump to a conclusion and guess that you are carrying a few extra pounds.
I would suggest a mountain bike without a suspension fork. Mountain bikes have heavily-built frames and wheels. I would also suggest having a very low first gear installed (24 tooth or smaller granny ring combined with a 32 tooth large sprocket on the cassette). With a low first gear, you will be able to climb hills without having to get off and walk.
Once you get into better shape you can change the gearing if you want.

Good for you. Go to a bike shop and test ride a bunch of them. Find what's comfortable, and what you would ride the most.

Holy Crap!!! Do not think the regular bike could fit you, not even a car. Probably, you need to ask someone to deside a bike specially for your weight.
