The most powerful weapon that our Heavenly Father has given us is the prayer language of the Holy Ghost. The devil has no clue as to what we are saying, and it goes straight to the throne room of God Himself.
My, my, my.........have you recieved this most awesome gift yet?
Just pray...ask God to fill you with the Holy ghost and by faith you will recieve.
Fahter, I ask you to fill each person with your heavenly language that you have so freely given to each of us, your children. Fill them to overflowing. And for each that have already been filled I ask tht you will once again stir them up to overflowing Father, that they just won't be able to contain themselves.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on this earth as it is in Heaven.
Asking this in the Name of your precious Son Jesus Christ. Amen <><

I have. I recommend to all to receive Him. Since I have, the Word has become alive, and scripture almost jumps off of the page. He brings things to remembrance, and reveals new things all of the time, even in the same scripture.

everyone who has accepted Christ, receives the Holy Spirit at the moment they accept Jesus. The Holy Spirit is there- however-we need to tap into His Power all the time. It is not automatic. About speaking in tongues being the most powerful thing we as believers do, I beg to differ- I too have a prayer language, that is between my Lord and I- however that is not what makes me powerful, it is the Lord working through me. I know many powerful Christians, that do not speak in tongues- nowhere is scripture does it say, speaking in tongues is mandatory for salvation or the holy spirit to live powerfully inside of you. Even Paul said "IF you speak in tongues speak in tongues, IF you have the gift of teaching, teach. etc. If it was for everyone he would have said so. I am just as thankful as you for this gift, however, it is not an indication that I have more power than any Christian- because then pride will set in, that I am better than anyone else, and I am not- WHATEVER YOU DO , DO AS UNTO THE LORD- that means, mercy, evangelize, teach, lead, pray= etc. We do not have the same gifts- but the same Lord.

I have received the Holy Spirit - November 1st, 2006 - but I have never had the desire to speak in "heavenly language." In fact, I had no idea the concept existed until a couple days ago, from another question. I've felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in worship and prayer, I sometimes cry it is so overwhelming, but I have never once spoken in "heavenly language" or had the desire to do so.
I believe the Holy Spirit gave the disciples the gift of speaking in foreign languages to people of other countries, but not language of heaven.
I've found quite a bit of evidence on other sites showing mistranslation from the Greek to English in some areas in 1st Corinthians 12

I received the Holy Ghost the moment I invited Christ into my heart. God understands English and when I pray to God it does not matter if the devil knows what I am asking for or not. He can't stop God from answering.

The Holy Ghost is given by the laying on of hands by the apostolic successors. This is well established in the bible. Through baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and then the laying on of hands men are filled with the Holy Spirit. The Catholic and Orthodox Churches call it Chrismation .

Well,
I have received the Holy Ghost, but I have not spoke in tongues and do not believe that we can will ourselves to do that.
I have seen people on TV claim to be doing it, but simply repeating a word over and over or babbling syllables over and over is not what it is about.
To be speaking in tongues you need to be saying something in a different language, not just babbling incoherent things.
But I am no expert, even though I was a Protestant for 40 years and now am Catholic. I cannot judge authenticity, just give my opinion.
Peace be with you.

Yes I have spoken in tongues and it's an experience I'll never forget. It happened while I was praying and once while reading the Bible. It's a beautiful gift of which I am thankful for.

I received the Holy Spirit the moment I accepted Jesus as my Savior, & was baptized. Speaking in tongues is one of the Spirirual gifts, that the Bible says is not for everyone, and speaking in tongues is not necessary for salvation, and water baptism is not a saving ordinance. All these doctrines are used to support how certain denominations wish to conduct their church, and are supported by scriptures taken out of context.
