so, I'm doing this project for my boss's son who is also a boss and running a department in the company but he's only 3 years older than me he's like 25 or 26 something like that..so now i call him to check a few things with him on the project and he told me he'll come and check it out right away..but he never comes...it happened twice...and the next day it's like nothing happened..I waited for him for like an hour and he never showed up although he was in the firm..I don't know if that's rude or not ...I really can't understand him at all..and whenever he meets me for checking the project, he's always talking on his cell phone and he never gives me a chance to explain anything and i find it hard to understand what he really wants in this project...I'm tired of being treated like that and I can't concerntrate on my work..and he's not making it easier..plz someone tell what to do?

If he is not giving you any feed back as to weather your doing the project right or not, then , you have to assume your doing it okay. And stop calling him, it's your job, and he's probably busy.

In my opinion, he's not giving you the professional courtesy that you deserve. You are working on a project that will benefit him, so I think you deserve to have a few uninterrupted minutes of his time.

This happens to me sometimes and I just offer another time to do it. I am not rude, but I try to make it clear that I do not want to share, or waste, my time while the other person is multi-tasking. If I'm working hard on a project and I have questions, or need feedback, I don't think it's too much to ask to meet with the person I'm helping.

Next time you have to meet with him, be specific. Ask him when would be a good time to meet b/c you have some questions that involve complex issues.

Either he is truly that busy, or he really has no idea what's going on and no clue how to do his job.

I personally make it a policy to never take a job at a family run business because these are the kinds of problems you run into....it seems they all have at least one family member who doesn't have a clue working in the company.

Anyway, I would let the project be. When he's ready (if ever) he'll get back to you. If he has a problem with your letting it sit I would tell him you couldn't go any further as you were waiting
on him to get back to you with answers for your questions.

tell him you need to meet with him; when you finally get the chance to talk to him, explain that it's hard for you to do your best on this project if you not sure what goal he has in mind ... gently insist that he stay with you until you understand what he expects, and he has answered your questions.

if that doesn't work, check with his boss. in a non-whiny voice explain that you have questions about the project, and can't get an answer from the boss's son, and you need direction so the project can be completed in a timely manner.
