Absolutely it works. I've been on Weight Watchers for 7 years now and successfully kept the weight off.
The biggest reason it works or doesn't is if you follow the plan and do what they tell you to do.
It is a slow and safe weight loss plan. They want you to average no more than 2 lbs per week in losses. Some people get discouraged because they think that is too slow, but remember you didn't put the weight on overnight and it shouldn't come off that way. By taking it off slowly, you're learning new habits and ways of eating they will help you keep it off after you've lost what you need too.
Good luck

I have never tried it but they have done some studies on weight watchers versus atkins and the south beach diet. Weight watchers ended up being the best because of its variety and people were more consistent with this diet than one of ther other ones. I would give it a try because everyone i know that has used it and stuck to it for a significant period of time has lost weight and learned how to eat better.

I haven't ever tried it, because I really don't believe in diets, I think that you should eat when you are hungry, but eat healthy and excersize as much as possible, but this isn't about me.. My friend tried Weight Watchers and lost 7 pounds in one week, which is a dangerous amount to lose on ANY plan. But, after that it stopped working, and she actually gained those 7 pounds back PLUS 3 extra pounds. If you try it, email me and tell me if it worked or not, for my own interest.

Weight watchers works because it gives a simple equation for eating healthy. It doesn't limit you to certain foods, you can eat a Big Mac if you want to, but then that would be all of your points for one day, or you can eat as many whole grains, fruits and veggies as you like. It's a great tool to get your body and mind trained as to what foods you should be eating. It's convenient too, and you don't even have to buy into it, you can get all the info you need to get started on line.
