someone loves them??
Yeah like someone who has a lot of doubts about God and needs to many proves to be able to believe in Him can be able to believe that someone (human) really loves them???
My bf, even though he grew up in a catholic family (me too btw) he has a lo doubts now that he is older about God, religion, etc. And sometimes when we are having hard times in our relationship makes me feel he doesn't believe me that I am with him because I love him, I love the way he is and that I want to be with him for who he is...and I was just wondering if one thing has to do with the other one??
What do you think?

Love is a word created by man to describe a close personal feeling for someone. (Some have difficulty believing such a thing even exists.) It's a subjective term and means something different to every person. So please take care not to force your belief in what love is and how it should be expressed on someone else. This has nothing to do with how religious he is.
Perhaps your b/f is going through a period of personal exploration and is struggling with his identity. It's like that for many people. They grow up taking so many things for granted and once they start making sense of the world on their own terms they are forced to reevaluate those things they previously held to be true.
P.S. It's hard to type when drunk isn't it?

I think that you're generalizing from one person to millions of people.
No, atheists don't have any difficulty knowing that the people who love us love us.
Your boyfriend has a problem; that's all.
When times are hard, he feels bad about himself, and concludes that he's unlovable, therefore, you don't love him.
That doesn't mean that atheists in general do this.

No, I'm a staunch atheist and I love my boyfriend very much and I know he loves me. You boyfriend is just being emotional. It has nothing to do with his beliefs.
