YES and here are few verses for our enlightnin. Remember what Apostle Paul tells to the Romans, where sin abounds Grace of God also does; Not that we should sin more - Now these days because of the increasing sin we need to pray more in the spirit too.
That doesnt mean the Bible got to be changed. Doesnt mean the HolySpirit in the past is different from that of now. NO - The Bible is the same, God is One, Holy Spirit is One ... BUT THE Movement of the Holy Spirit is Different - in fact its much higher.
Rom 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express
1Cor 14:2-5
For anyone who speaks in a tongue[a] does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.[b]
But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
If therefore any not the recvd the gift of the HolySpirit its high time. AND be prepared for that TRumpet shout. In that day the ones in Christ will be caught up in Glory.

Yes. I actually pray that very thing everyday! The he give me his eyes to see people the way he does, and is hears to hear their spirit, that I might be of help to each person I come into contact with. I pray in the spirit while i'm getting dressed in the mornings, it starts my day of right. You know? I'm sure you do. After all, His Word says, "Call unto me and I will answer and show you great and mighty things you know not of." So thats what we should be doing...Thank you for this wonderful reminder to live life daily in Spirit and in Truth.

its like a wall
its like a spear as he stroked the tusk

Yes, I see, hear and understand, but for many--
"...their heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." Matt. 13: 15
