Are you freakin' insane? I know that's harsh, but my goodness. She is NINE! There are NO good chatrooms on the net. There are perverts and predators. Along with EVERYONE cussing in them. There is no reason for a nine year old to go in a chat room. If she wants to chat with her friend, either do it on the phone or get AIM. That way AIM has privacy settings where she can only have her friends on her buddy list see she's online and talk to her.
You really shouldn't be a parent. What parent let's their child (ANY AGE) go into a chat room?

What happened to going to see the friend or calling her on the phone? My son is nine and I would NEVER allow him to go in a chat room. I don't see why you're asking for people to tell you of a chat room. Don't you realize how many predators are online? I think this is a very unsafe practice. You should encourage her to go outside, or at the very least to talk on the phone. I would not allow my child to go into chat at nine years old. I've seen what kind of thing is typed into those rooms and I do not want my nine year old child seeing it. I think this is wrong and you should not allow her to chat instead encourage her to play outside. When I was a kid I didn't have a chat room to go into and I grew up just fine. Kids do not need to be online in chat rooms. Not at nine years old.

Well honestly i dont think youll find one because in any chat room there can and might b a possiility so i think your best choice is email or aol instant messaging u can download it on aim or yahoo messaging but i strongly do not advise chat rooms for a nine year old

Hiya hun there isnt one. My daughter is 12 now, but on and off shes been on them, with me sitting next to her, and got to admit to being very dubious about what certain people say to her. These people may well be kids, but they might not be.. and Im not going to take any chances!
Hows about her having MSN ? And obviously you have the password too... only people from say her class are added on, and you check her MSN account every single day.
Also sitting next to her gives her some pc time, but also gives you peace of mind too.
Hope all goes well hunni.

I don't think there are any, sadly enough. My advice is for her just to IM people she already knows. Child predators are all over the kids chat rooms, and she won't know when she's talking to one. She may give away the name of her school, and he may then stalk her.

"Safe chatroom" is an oxymoron. And she wants to tell her friends (and therefore anyone else in the chatroom) which ROOM she's in? That doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
