in the "middle" of Eve? Was God's name Eden? How did they know that the female reproduction system looked like a tree? How did they know that the "tree of knowledge"(human brain) looked like a tree? Was God telling Adam that he wanted Eve? Was Adam just being a man when he told Eve he was just as good as God?

Treating the story allegorically is a wise move, but the symbols are for ideas, not other physical objects. The "trees" are not tree-like objects. They merely hold the ideas they represent, life and knowledge. The interpretation doesn't have to be a big mystery. The primary message is that life would have been easier if we had just trusted God.

To misquote Frued....
Sometimes a tree is just a tree.

There is nothing in the Genesis story which would indicate the "trees" were brains and organs. Or are you suggesting the Adam and Eve got smater by eating somebody's brain?

Sorry, but that one makes no sense. Maybe it means just exactly what it says?

Tree of knowledge > Science and education
Eve > woman's preponderance for sin
Adam > man's ego
Snake > boogeyman

I think that is the point we are supposed to take from that lil fable.

You see, it was to the church's advantage that their people have a strong mistrust of any information that came from outside the church... this little story succeeds in demonizing education and outside information.
At the same time, it serves to justify sexism and men being superior to women.
"It was all Eve's fault... so women cannot be trusted... so don't vote for Hillary..."
