We built our house and added a sunroom to the plans. We have a view of the woods and a creek. It was definitely worth the extra we paid. We have a small table in it for dining, and a large chair and couch, along with plenty of plants.
I think it depends on what your view will be. If it is other houses, or someone else's back yard, you may not want one. If you have a private view, then add one. Shop around. You may find that it doesn't cost as much as you think. Instead of one of the pre-fab types, talk to a home builder/home remodeler.
You may possibly already have an area, such as a deck or porch, or extra room, that can be converted to a sun room.

Sunrooms can be expensive, so you have to evaluate the cost vs. value ratio carefully. They are beautiful, allow you to grow plants you can't grow outdoors, and add to the value of your home. They come in many forms, so you should spend time searching for them on the internet, and at fairs where you will meet some people who sell and install them.
If you are good with carpentry projects you might be able to do some of the work yourself. The true "sunroom" that's all windows and looks stunning takes more skill than the wood at the bottom, plastic top and ceiling form, but if you are willing to put in the time to learn, you can be very happy with the results. You can also try simply building out your house on the sunny side and putting a wall of windows, with a glass roof, or not.
So, you really have to answer for yourself if it's worth it or not. You want to decide what you would like to have, whether you want to build it yourself or not, and how much you want to dedicate to the costs of the project. Personally, I love them, they do add to the value of your home, and they can also add to the "living space" of your home. If you have more questions you may email me through my profile.

Absolutely!!!! worth the money. As long as your view is desirable, and not a peeping tom's dream, it provides so many benefits. Your plants, your pets, and your psyche will be grateful for a tranquil respite in your home. Even in the middle of a thunderstorm, the view is great. I have "roll out windows" on two opposite sides, with built in screens, and they provide a cross-breeze on moderate temp days, and also air the whole house out nicely.

yes. My view is fabulous. I have a small table at one end and a wicker set at another, with a small tv. Right now my niece is reading a book in it. I have the ceiling painted like clouds and a mural on one wall. It helps in the winter by insulating us against cold winds. In the winter if I have a party and have no refridgerator space left- I set things on the table on the porch.
