Im CRAP at writing, completely rubbish at spelling (spell check is a godsend i know).

Anyway, have looked around on the web to see if I can find a templete, but no luck. Any advice would be greatly recieved

Thank you xxx

Type your name and address at the top left of the paper.
Then skip a line and type "RE:" and put your mother's name and her account number, this way whoever is getting your letter will know which account the letter is in reference to. Then start your letter "To Whom It May Concern," and simply describe your situation. Just a few lines are necessary - "I am writing to inform you that is now deceased as of . Attached is a copy of her death certificate." Now, the rest of the letter depends on your answer to this question --- Who is respononsible for your mother's debts?

Usually when you go to websites like microsoft.com you find templates there.

All it actually it needs to be said in short form is following...

Req: state your mom s name and address

remember do not give out her SSN

than write like that

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I regret to inform you that above person has passed away. Attached you will find a copy of her deadth certificate. Please be adviced to cancel all her accounts, magazine subscription etc.
Sent the remainder of bills to her estate. I also would like a copy of her final bill.

Than keep all the correspondence for a while. And after a year or so. Run a credit report on her to see whether they have done it or not.
I had to do it when my husband passed away. Pretty much they are cool about it. Good luck and very sorry for your loss. angelika (Utah)

My condolences.
Here's something basic... maybe you can compile the best of the answers into an appropriate letter.
Good luck!

RE: (Her name and account number)

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter represents notification that (name) died on (date). Enclosed is a copy of the death certificate for your records. While her estate is being settled, all future communications should be addressed to: (give name, address and phone number).
Should you require anything further, please contact XX immediately.
Thank you.

Ask the clerk of the closest probate court if it may be handled through a public notice in a local paper.
