Christians have been waiting for Jesus to return for around 2000 years now. How much longer do you think they will wait before they finally come to the conclusion that he is not going to come back after all? 3000 years? 5000 years? 10000 years?

Or do you think that there will always be at least a few that will never give up? (Or until humans go extinct at least).

Khalid E - Wow! I had completely forgotten about that! The Muslims are waiting for him too!

- For people that believe that he will return:
In your case, please view this as a hypothetical question. IF Jesus were to fail to ever come back, how long do you think people would wait?

He returned two thousand years ago, not many noticed then. People will not give up their sucky toys easily.

Your mocking attitude is not new. The writer of 2 Peter deals with the issue in 2 Peter 3, and he was dealing with the issue back in the 1st century AD.

2 Peter 3:8-10 Here is something, dear friends, which you must not forget: in the Lord's sight one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day. It is not that the Lord is slow in keeping his promises, as some suppose ... But the day of the Lord will come like a thief."

In that kind of reckoning, we are only 2 days on from the ascension.

He won't come back.

See, this is proof that Jesus was only a man that tricked people into believing in some god and making Christianity.

He won't come back. And if he does, I have to see it with my own two eyes.

2000 years is a blip in time. Christians will wait until He returns. Why should it bother you?

It'll become more and more embarrassing, and fewer and fewer people will adhere to the idea in a strict sense, until finally it will (like so many other biblical concepts) become imagery only....meant to be "interpreted" as something else.

I personally believe that he will come back one day possibly soon, maybe not. It really doesn't matter what year, just so I have settled that question in my mind when he does.

Read the bible....it tells you what to look for when the end times come, and we are in the first stages of the end times now.
