I've heard this before and I've never experienced a broken heart. Does it really hurt that much?

Absolutely.

"Seritonin" is a chemical produced in the brain that release when you're with a long-love.

Studies on dolphins show that partners will die shortly after one dies. We also see this phenomonim in some marriages of the elderly. However, with humans's the younger they are the more physical strenght they have to overcome a deficiency in a drop of seritionin (from lossed love). So, it's rare to see a young person die of love.

Spiritually, we see broken hearts create new people. This can be for the better or worse depending how the person invests time into healing their broken heart. Some will take the good and bad and create positive future goals; while others dwell on the negative and become bitter and jaded. Which IMO, is a death of a personality.

It hurts really bad. Ive never heard of anyone dying of a broken heart but I know that babies die if they're not loved. They just give up and it's really sad.

Ah, yeah it really hurts...I just suffered my first broken heart recently. I said, 'why didn't anybody tell me it hurts this bad?!?" But die from it...perhaps the mentally unstable, or very ill, or very elderly. Will to live is certainly an important factor when a person is trying to recover from an illness.

Anyone who allows another person to be their purpose for living, has a lot of personal issues. It's not impossible that someone will die (or kill themselves) over the loss of a lover but it's a waste.

Nobody should be your be-all/end-all or reason for living. A broken heart hurts but they heal and if allowed, will be just as good or better, than before.

Rejection isn't fun for sure, but anyone who lets that be the end of their life, was mentally unstable to begin with.

Yes, it does hurt that much. I don't think anyone has ever died, unless they committed suicide, but it sure feels like you are dieing and praying for death to release you from the pain you are feeling. For me, I stopped eating, sleeping, taking care of myself and basically just withered away, until I found a reason to live and move on. Good Luck. Live Life to the Fullest and Enjoy Every Minute of It.....
