It depends where in the Hamptons. East Hampton? South Hampton? The Hamptons is tough for waterfront hotels, due to the fact the huge homes are situated right on the water. Also, most hotels are very small; you will not find any of the commerical names there as the Hamptons wants to limit the amount of tourism and keep things exclusive. This is THE most popular time of the year to go to the Hamptons. I'd imagine you're going to have a relatively difficult time finding any vacancies to begin with. You don't specify where you want your hotel..."Hamptons"...East? South? ...Sag Harbor and Montauk are also sometimes considered "The Hamptons".

On the East End, most of the hotels are in Montauk. They vary in prices from the most expensive the Montauk Yacht Club to the less expensive. Once you get into montauk you'll see a whole bunch of signs for many hotels. If still you can't find one go to the tourist bureau in the village.
