No, you should not be concerned, and you should not be comparing this child to your other children. All children develop different and hit milestones at different times. Because one didn't master a skill at the same age as your other doesn't mean she/he is slow.

Children do not start walking until they are between 11 - 18 months of age. If she is walking around furniture and getting around with aides, then she just hasn't decided to do it on her own yet.

Another thing to consider, this is your third child. Perhaps the others play with her and come to her?

I would just relax and enjoy the fact that you are already chasing two, why rush the third? If it's really that troubling to you, talk to you child's doctor at the next check-up.

No. For one thing up to 18 months is considered normal. For another she is physically capable of walking, supporting her weight etc. She just hasn't made the mental leap that she can let go, or she is afraid of letting go. That is a mental development that happens in its own time and isn't really part of the physical milestone.

My cousin didn't walk forever as soon as he realized you let go he would panic and sit down. However he could walk if he didn't notice! *lol* He's just fine now and 21!

most doctors would not show concern until she's 18 months, she seems like she's just about ready to walk as she's walking round things holding on.... My son was 15 months before he walked, he just found crawling was quicker, my next child was 17 months but she's got a medical condition and was late developing skills like sitting and walking, baby 3 was walking by 11 months so they are all different.

I would take her to her Dr. and see what they have to say about it. There could a be a very simple reason why she hasn't taken her first step. 16 months is a little to old to not be walking however it could just be how she is. Try to not stress but do make an appointment for her.

I wouldn't worry about it yet. My sister has two children. The first child didn't walk until she was almost 17 months old, and the second child, he just turned one and is already walking like its no big deal. Good Luck to you!!

it's not whether or not she's walking on her own yet - maybe she hasn't the courage yet. you have to look at her other behaviours - she walks around things, pulls herself up with furniture and walks with your help, right? i wouldn't worry. all kids are different. it's important that's she's doing the other things. my friend didn't walk until she was two because she was the youngest and everyone carried her.

nope my son walked at 16 months. i asked the doctor about it and was told not to worry until he was 2 and not walking. how about you and dad sit on the floor kinda close together and one stand her up and hold her and the other hold a cookie and call her to them this worked with my son. he was just lazy and found crawling easier

maybe she has tried to walk and she might haved fell and know shes scarred to walk on her own.
my friends son tried to take his first step and fell than got up and tried again and fell again after that he didnt want to walk anymore i guess cause he got frustrated or scarred. but with his mom and dad encouraging him he started walking about a week later all by himself.

no two babies are alike. just because she isn't walking doesn't mean anything! she'll walk when she is ready! Maybe when she is all grown up, she'll take her time and she will decide when she is ready to do something different.
